Fact – monolithic enterprise-wide systems are acquired primarily for the synergy they create in large, diverse organizations. They are not adopted to improve accounts payable operations. When asked in 2004 and early 2005 about the impact on accounts payable processing of integrating a new ERP system, four out of five accounts payable managers replied that their workloads actually increased.
